Still new to the forum and appreciate all the info. Will be heading up to Lake Nipissing next week for walleye and hope to try my first report. I'm also trying the new Gulp Alive bait for the first time and was wondering if any of you have had any success with it. I've never had much success with artificials. So far I just have 3 in. leeches and was thinking of picking up minnows as well. They seem a bit expensive, but buying worms and $5.00/ doz. at the camp, I'm willing to take a chance. We usually trail worms off jigs with great success.

Cheers

Im a big fan of The Gulp Lineup (aside from the leaky buckets). If your going for walleye, try their 3" Minnow Grub on a 1/4 oz jig head. Should work wonders. I find the chartreuse and Fluorescent orange work best.

Tried using Gulp Alive and should have listened to Cypher's advise. Left the container in my new $124.00 tackle box and it leaked untill dry. I now have a tackle box that reeks! Never caught anything on it either.

Just so you know.

I don't like the fact that there is the liquid to deal with most of the time when I am fishing. I usually keep the gulp bags and then put whatever I need into the bags so there is nothing to spill.

Gulp to me works wonders, but like any bait you have, you will have to build confidence in it to be able to use it more.

I've had success using a three inch minnow on a jig head for walleye. Drop shotting the leaches is deadly for smallmouth.

I hate the leaky containers too....what I did was put the whole contents of it in a Lock and Lock container, and nothing has leaked since....can't wait to use them again this year!
