So after a few weeks off the boys and I are back on the water. Got the old 14' Mirrorcraft all cleaned up and ready to go. This weekend it will be all about the trout but a different kind now it's Laker time for us. Going to hit some Lakes around Bancroft and maybe Smoke Lake in Algonquin. Last year was a bust for us especially me. First time iny life I went a whole season with not one caught!!! Hopefully this year they will be more playful. These little lakes are my life long play grounds and although harder and harder to get to as Ministry no longer maintains access roads or launches we still somehow manage to wet lines. Next year I might actually have to buy a different vehicle to continue my life long passion with these lakes. It so sad that some of my favourites I can no longer get to, oh to have a truck. Lol

Lots of Splake waters up that way BU. I have a few little lakes I like to hit up there on the hard water season. Good luck to you and the boys.

Only tried the splake a few times, have never caught one. Can't fiqure out how to target them.

Have a great summer.
Quote from this year's fishing calender
Nothing grows faster than a fish from when it hits untill it gets away.

Sorry.
I keep forgetting no one is allowed to respond to my posts. Lol
Your loss.

Some of us have their own minds.
Others just have to follow.
I always think for myself.
Faster you learn this more free you'll be in life.

Am I missing something? Not sure how this has turned into what it is. Just posting on a family fishing weekend, our annual family trip.

They can be a hit and miss , early spring and summer I like lipless crankbaits . When it gets to hot they go deep. Hard water I go with a spoon and worn or minnow, or old school split shot hook and bait.
