Just wondering if a bait tying machine is worth purchasing.

also im not a big fan on curing eggs so im just wondering if i just put them in the freezer once they are done tying would last for next spring and fall.

thanks for any of the info.

i got some salmon eggs for this fall as well my buddy told me not to cure them. Just put some salt and freeze them.
i think that machine is better if u have really soft eggs that like to pop alot.

thats awesome.

last year bag of roe i got was totally destroyed. thought i could do the same like fish by putting them in a block of ice.

after the thaw it was so fragile they literally burst.

really suck buffalo balls.

too maany "machines" kills the joy of fishing, IMO. Where are the old days that dough and worms on a hand line were yielding so many fish? Now we have to have almost a NASA station with all electronics and machines! not fun, imo again 8) A big part of fun in fishing is to get our hands dirty

machines for life.

also wanna buy one of those rc fishing boats.

like to see it being taken down by a large pike or muskie.

I'm giving all my cured roe to Ronald. My dad and evil stepmom can't stand the smell after I tie them.

thats cool. dont want any more roe all salmon are catch and release at this point.

the temperature is getting cold now boys. now we need another solid rain and it going to be slaughter to the trouts.

If the bait tying machine is the little square orange or yellow block one, it is not worth buying. I had two friends that swore by theirs until I showed them I could out tie both of them together by hand. I will admit that if your eggs are not loose and are not cured it is a big mess but the machine will not make it less of a mess.
I rarely use any eggs anymore but on messy skein I have found that curing them in borax will keep the mess to a minimum.
To speed tie your eggs - layout 25 pieces of netting on a flat surface, place eggs on the netting for all 25, put your spider thread spool in a small bottle (stops it from rolling all over), take the tag end of the spider thread in one hand (I hold it with my pinkie), pick up one of the eggs and netting, twist it and grab the spider thread and wrap 2X3 wraps and tighten and snap. Cut and trim all the bags after you're done twisting them all up. Your hands only get messy in the twisting stage, and your job will go quicker than tying one at a time.
25 bags takes me 30 mins and last for a morning fish.
