Bought a new baitcaster about a week ago while i was cleaning and greasing i got an unexpected phone call and had to rush away... Long story short i dropped it while running out of room and many parts fell out.. If anyone is very talented at fixing them let me know please! I have got it working to its intended use but i hear an awful rubbing noise i know i wont be able to put up with.. If you can help please pm me. Thank you for any help i appreciate it

Why not check the manufacturer to see if they have a schematic of the reel or google it and seen if there are any on line, if that fails take it to your local shop.

what make and model is it?

Also you might want to get in touch with " alwayscatching" a member on this forum he might be able to help you.

good luck

Ive got a schematic im not missin any parts everythigs where its sposed to be... I will talk to him for sure thank you

Did the spool hit the ground and get dented? Or another part bent? Maybe the spool axel? Reels have a lot of moving parts, anything could be acting up

Nope cerainly not the spool or the spool axel. I think i may have lost the pindle? I think thats what its call that keeps the main gear aligned straight with the other, so it wobbles and makes a noise.. To me that would make sense im hoping that is all? Would anyone know if i could be diagnosing this correctly? And thanks bow man talked to alwayscatching and he offered assistance. Appreciate the reference

Somethingfishy,

I've had some experience in rebuilding baitcast reels. Some schematics are not entirely accurate or they confuse where the part goes. With that said, if you can remember how you took it apart, go with your memory if you think it was different from the diagram.

Off the top of my head I can suggest there are part(s) along the main axle that are not in the right order/backwards. That would cause a wobble through out the entire reel and give off a gritty/grinding feeling. If you have a popular model, there may be a video on youtube showing how to take it apart/put it back together.

Good luck!
