Well I have been trying to nail crappie there for the past 2 days and can't get over how much garbage is on the shores from other anglers. Filled an entire black jumbo garbage bag full of worm containers, minnow bags, broken bobbers, broken lures, tangled line, countless coffee cups, pop cans, beer cans, EVERYTHING. Honestly makes me angry how much garbage was in a little area if anyone has been to these lakes they probably know the area i'm talking about.

Rant over..

Please clean up after yourselves.

hey man good on you for doing the right thing. the high road is hard to follow and all that

glad you dont have to see some of the bridges for my local trib. i see guys stop mid bridge and dump whole bags full of who knows what and just drive off like its nobodies business.

sent a video to the police but we all know they arent gonna do anything, or at least not make a priority out of it.

funny thing is sometimes i see the exact same vehicle several times doing it.. ive tried to get its license plate # but its harder then it sounds

ah well hopefully the crappie god smiles on your works and blesses you with some nice ones :)

Oh theres still lots around the lake could not fit anymore into my bag. Should of brought two. And thanks its just a piss off to see this from people. f

Also winter kill has done a number on smaller fish. Tons of cats on shore, few crappies and found 2 12-16 inch pike on the shore too.

Yup!! You said it. I've felt the same way many times there.

On another note how was winter kill there this year? They are both very shallow lakes...

nevermind! This answers my question, thanks Kit! I haven't had a chance to drive by yet to check it out. I usually don't fish these lakes until pike opens.

wow unreal, wish you tight lines forever buddy! Good on you for cleaning up. I actually just posted a thread called "responsibility" a week or two back so check it out. If its that bad we should make an OFF outing up there, make a day out of it and clean up a lake that in need.

What you guys think?

Lots to clean still on the sides of the roads that run along the lake. This weekend I will head back out over there if you wanna meet up send me a PM. I am a short ride away on my bike.

Its funny as well cause I saw the GRCA up there yesterday changing signs or something and I said to one of the guys you guys should get some people out here to clean up the shore lines. He just said yeah its pretty bad, but no budget to do it. I said to the guy budget? Why do you need a budget? Get some volunteers and spend a few hours to clean it up. Never really said anything after that had no interest to clean up the area at all. Useless bunch of people.

I respect you and anyone who goes out of their way to do this. It disgusts me when I see fellow "fisherman" leave broken line or any type of garbage for that matter.
Keep our fisheries clean!

Good on you Kit.
I always have a garbage bag in my back-pack to pick up after losers, I mean others  .
I will never understand why people can't carry their garbage out with them. Many of the things they leave behind are lighter in weight than when they carried them in. Pop and beer containers are empty, same for food containers.
Besides being an eyesore, things like discarded fishing line and the rings that hold 6 cans of beer together can be a death sentence to fish and wild-life. Also discarded line can be a hazard to fellow humans as a tripping hazard as some of it is almost invisible to the naked eye. That being said, someone in waders tripping on line discarded in a place with fast currents and deeper water could also end up dead. I personally have 1 large pocket in my vest that is only used for line I pick up that others have left. I am often amazed at how heavy some of the line I clean up is.

Alfie.
