So went out today with a good friend to a "spot" we know on a good healthy creek, we used ultralight gear, had a great morning.

So we hit the water at 5:30am and 20 .....yes 20 bass later. We called it a day. We did not take many pics but here is one of the average sized large mouth we caught.

Again this was on a ultralight rod 4 pound line and a size 0 mepps, everything we caught was on this gear. Great fights and great fun.

Have to admit the small mouths we caught put up the best fights.

cheers.

Ultra Lite gear is always the most fun type of fishing. My crappie fishing is my favorite on 4lbs fluorocarbon and slip floats with either minnows or plastics. People don't realize the amount of fun it can be!

Looks like a ton of fun! I've caught a few decent bucket mouths on ultralights, and for once you can really have a great fight, instead of using heavy baitcasting rods. One time I had a 4 lb largie on my 3wt fly rod, and the drag just screamed as the fish darted around cover. Eventually broke off because I didn't have enough backbone to pull it out of a willow tree, none the less a ton of fun.

Thanks everyone, it was a blast! Couldn't get rid of the stupid grins on our faces for a few hours. We where stunned at how quickly and aggressively they where hitting.
We where only out for 5hrs.

The fishing gods smiled on us this day.
