Bass Rat Bait?

Attached is a couple of pictures of a topwater lure that a gentleman left sitting on my boat last week while we where up fishing on the French River. It is a soft plastic rat or mouse but I have not been able to find out how to get it. I have searched the internet with no success and was hoping someone recognoized it and could help me out. Dou you Know anything about this bait.

This bass bait, to me, sure looks like a beat up Strike King Rat King for sure. They have both seen action and the whiskers are usually a little longer. I saw them today in an old school tackle shop for 3 and change each (old stock).

....official name is "King Rat" by Strike King. If not, it is very close.

Thanks for the reply. You are right it is very similar to the King Rat by Strike King but that is not the same exact bait. The King Rat has a open area for the hook point to come up through the middle and is alot more rigid than the bait I am looking for. Appreciate your effort. Thanks

Perhaps you could help us out a littlle here. What is the Length? Where are the Hooks? How, or where do they attach to the Line? There is no Hardware showing anywhere. They both look like they've been "Beaten" to death.!

Do you know the Gentleman that left them on your boat deck? From the picures I got "Saugeen Shores" what does that have to do with it?

I found 5 of them on the internet at various locations. Only 3 of those even came close. 1/ "Live Target" Field Mouse, 3.5in Long $10.99CDN. 2/ Optimum Baits" Rat'N Rat 3in Long $7.99CDN.

The best "Fit" is from "Moreau Baits" in the USA. Sold in Canada at the Tackle Warehouse which I believe is in Hamilton. It's 5" Long, 2 Treble Hooks Under, Hook Up Eye is at the Mouth and they Retail for $46.00CDN!! The Tail ant the way it's attached would appear to be identical. Body also, except these are New.

Now the big question....... Why do you need that exact Rat/Mouse?

This is a soft plastic bait that comes without hooks like a horny toad and you supply the hook and rig it yourself. That is what makes it unique is that it is not a hollow body bait with eye and hooks attached like a scum frog or rat. This would be packaged like a soft plastic worm or frog with 5 or 6 in a package and you would then rig accordingly.

The bait is 4 1/2 inches long from head to tail and has a slit in the belly to insert the hook weddless if desired. The bait in the picture is not that old and seems to have been used only a couple of times. The reason I am looking for this exact bait is that it is a soft plastic rather than a hollow body bait , that can be rigged weedless and fished in all kinds of slop. This type of bait I find also provides a better hook up percentage than the hollow body bait and will provide an alternative to the similar topwater frog I use the Horny Toad by Zoom.

That's a different Ball Game!. I've seen those types of Packages on "Bass Pro Shops" and "Cabelas" WWW Sites. I didn't look at them as I assumed it was a "Ready To Go" bait.

So, I'll leave it you to have a look see.
