I thought I would just toss out what basic bass setups I have and maybe you guys can reference some of my specs to yours or maybe for future you may want to try out some of what I have to offer in terms of specs. Keep in mind guys, I typically use 40-65 lbs braided line with 25 lbs fluorocarbon leaders UNLESS I am using a crankbait stick in which case you may want to have a full line of 10-12 lbs Seaguar Fluorocarbon. Also for spinnerbaits I use straight braid and do not use a swivel! It can actually take away from the action. I use an open loop and tie my knot directly to them.

Soft Plastics
7 Ft MH Fast action
Baitcaster 7+ Ratio

Senkos(Wacky Only) as well as Drop Shot Rod
6'8-7ft Extra Fast action
Spin Reel

Jigs
7'6-11 MH-H Fast
Baitcaster 7+ Ratio

Cranks
7 Ft M Moderate Action
Baitcaster 4.7-5.5 Ratio

Spinnerbait/Jerk Baits
6'6 MH Fast for 1/4-3/8 ounce
Baitcaster 6.3:1 Ratio for tight spaces such as boats/docks/thick bushes/laydowns

ALSO

7'2 MH Fast for 3/4 ounce
Baitcaster 7.1:1 Ratio
Can use this for dragging football jigs as well as a carolina rig. Can also work small-mid sized swim baits.

This is what I needed! Thanks! Now all I have to do is save up enough to by them all!!!

I'm guessing you would throw weightless plastics on your dropshot combo??

These are the 3 setups I've been running so far.

Flipping Jigs/Texas Rigs/Frogging
7'5 ft. Heavy/Fast 1/4-1oz
Bait Caster 6.4:1 Ratio
Spooled with 65lb Powerpro - No leader.

Poppers, Jerk Baits, Small Cranks/Spinners
6'6 ft. Medium/Fast 1/4-5/8 oz
Bait Caster 7.1:1 Ratio
Spooled with 20lb Powerpro - Occasionally use 15lb maxima ultragreen leader.

Drop Shot
6'9 Medium-Light/X-Fast 1/8-1/2 oz
Spinning Reel spooled with 8lb Yozuri Hybrid.

Will definitely be adding more in the future. Bass fishing is my second favourite next to Steelhead and trout fishing. Never knew of the swivel messing up the spinnerbait action, will definitely keep that in mind from now on.

Caught this guy back in July while drop shotting a black slammer in 30 fow.

CJR that is a beautiful looking smallie. For anyone who has wondered if using a 6.5:1 ratio as opposed to the recommended 7.1:1 or higher ratio reel makes a difference for flipping or pitching, all I can say is I have noticed that when using a jig it doesn't to ME make the biggest difference but I do it anyway because I have the reel for it and it is a really nice one. The swivel does kill action so be aware.
