A beaver came out right in front of me today while I was fishing and began feasting on foliage.

Anyone else ever encounter a beaver that was not afraid of humans?

We now, call the BEAVER a nuisance.

Yes, we are here ... but before we started developing North America, it was the BEAVER who was the Master of Water Control & Regulation.

Every SINGLE NATIVE FISH SPECIES was interlinked to our Furry Friends.

Pound for Pound the most INTELLIGENT, PRODIGIOUS Engineers the animal world has ever known.

*One beaver dam measured 1200 Metres (thats like almost a mile - Built by one family)

I'm proud that the BEAVER is one of the SYMBOLS of CANADA.

Says alot.

Course You know I love the Little Guys .... It's MY AVATAR!

Me and DUDE were the only ones HANGING out at the HUMBER in Jan!

Nice winter beaver there Blair, I saw one at the Willy last December along with a mink that was striking a very eloquent pose at the S-Bends.

I read up on minks afterwards and apparently they bring good fortune.

Well, if by good fortune, they mean the worst hell imaginable, or actually a lot worse than you could ever conceive or imagine, they were right! Shortly thereafter my health and most of everything I had been working hard towards my entire life collapsed, and my life became a real life nightmare of epic proportions

Let's just say I don't believe much in omens anymore.

So if you feel down on your luck at all, whether it be career-wise, health-wise or woman-wise, just ask me recount to you my life story over the past couple of years, you will surely be set straight !

I was fishing the dam in st Jacobs and one sawn by to say hi. I've also fished at riverside park in Cambridge where a mink took a minnow from our hands. Urban fishing friends

I was fishing at Toogood the other weekend and there was a small beaver that came out of the trees and started swimming around not far from where I was set up. Did a few laps and then left peacefully. It was actually the first time I've seen a beaver up close in the wild.

Cool, that seems to happen to me quite regularly. They are more apt to snapping their tales at night.

The one pictured in my post was only a foot away from me, for about 10 minutes, and did not seem to be afraid of me at all. I thought it may have been injured at first, but it looked fine.

Always be careful around animals that don't show fear in the wild there is a lot of distemper going around in the wild kingdom.

Kill them all, only good beaver is a dead beaver  As you can tell, I have a real soft spot for them :) Up north, had a well nearly run dry because of beaver activity, trappers lovin' it 'cause the prices on fur went up and she's trapped quite a bunch already on the lake. The rest of 'em, well, Dozer et al. have been keeping real busy

On a side note, I've seen a leucistic mink before, that was pretty neat.
