I might be going to Belwood this Saturday or Sunday as well depends which day looks best for no rain. So far Saturday looks better then Sunday less wind and slighlty less chance of rain but that can all change.

Mountsberg is good best spot is to cross the river under the dam and go on the other side.

where is this Bellwoods you speak of?

Went to Belwood lake today, after 7hrs of fishing the first inlet and cove on the right side right after ths launch I only got 1 pike and 1 small bass. Might try this lake again its a huge lake 12kms long I didn't have enough fuel to do lots of exploring other then the inlet we went to one point off the first island its 45ft deep, we where jigging then I pulled out the fish finder and bam 45ft I knew I was jigging for nothing:( ah well it was only for 20mins or so.

It was a nice day, lots of power boats & skiers so watch out.

I went to Belwood on Sunday as well and we got chased off the water by the rain storm. We did not catch anything but we did get some hits most likely Bass on our topwater lures but the fishing was slow ... most likely because of the storm and the large amount of water skiers and seadoo riders making lots of noise LOL but other than that this lake looks promising maybe I will go there during the week to avoid high traffic on the water. By the dam the water is deep I mean 60 ft I wonder if there is walleye there. I got hits on a red and white zaraspook and my friend's son was getting hits on a frog bait which had the hind legs shaped into a propeller. I might go out there again someday.

Did you fish in the first inlet to the right? I was told that your suppose to stay at least 50-100ft(can't remember) away from the dam. I might go there again this weekend will head north or ask around for good fishable spots. If you find any good spots let me know;) I will do the same. this is the closest power boat lake to me(other then lake ontario) I want to try a few more times before I decide if its worth going there.

Actually I won't give up on this lake just yet it is fairly close for me to go there so I will go there again and also try different spots that way I will eventually find the sweet spots. The lake looks promising and I am sure once you find your spots you will be going back for more as with any new body of water you will need to find what works to bring in the fish.

I don't know what lures you were using but the 2 times I went there nothing worked but a husky jerk. all fish caught in the inlet to the right of the boat launch, all smaller size 12-20 inches.

according to their web site there is supposed to be trophy sized pike,I'll beleive it if I ever see it

I went there again yesterday, was using xraps caught 3 small pike this time and 2 small bass. Will try again in July once bass season is open so I can officially target bass.
