A friend and I were planning on Fishing for carp in the mississauga area. We were originally after smallmouths and what not in the credit river area but have heard good things about the lake promenade and marie curtis park. Unfortunatly all we really know is that using corn is a good option. Can anyone help me understand how to fish for carp a little better? How much corn on a hook, how deep should i let the hook sink, good habitats ans bad ones for carp, times of day, any help would be greatly appreciated!

try a little of everything. Use corn, worms, crayfish tails(they work well but let the fish eat it for a while so u can get a good hookset) , and big hunks of bread or meat.

If you want something off-the-shelf try Magic Carp Bait. I saw some guys in Niagara tossing this stuff and Carp were eating it up. Never personally used it though.
