Hi all,
I am new to this site but a longtime bass angler. Looking for some hot spots within 1hr or two of Ottawa to land some lunkers. Any advice?

I've read that the Ottawa River is full of bass and flows through the city. Welcome to the board.

I've fish in Ottawa couple times... You should have no problem finding bass there... I fished both the Ottawa river, and Rideau canal... Lot's of bass and other species.

the one time i went to ottawa on a school trip i didnt get to fish but we walked past a guy who was and he let me cast out a couple times and i got a decent smallie on the ottwawa river

right near the parliament buildings, there is a trams canada trail, we used to fish there for sturgeon when it was open, but found there to be blue channel catfish, tons of walleye and chain pickerel, bass, ling, musky, pike, its pretty deep and a little current so a heavier jig is what i would recommend, tip it with a plastic or better yet a minnow, especially if you wanna hook into a bunch of walters and chain pickerel! Ounce your on the trail, turn to the river, so that your back is to the parliament buildings, cast out as far as you can and retrieve slowly, fish is pretty well guaranteed.
