.just spent 30 hours fishing some east tribs..... thursday night was steady, friday morning we seen schools of salmon cruising the beaches like packs of sharks, in the afternoon a front moved and the waves rolled in topping over the piers at times and we witnessed a water funnel out in front of the power plant. that night was on fire there was hundreds of fish landed and the crowd not to bad. I gave spoon chucking my first honest go and hit three on a green glow cleo with orange spots (what a feeling when they strike), took many more fishing with bait. Ended up breaking my first s&s rod on a tank but thats ok as it was 10 yrs old and i was surprised i got last season out of it. needless to say there is oven ten pounds of roe and 100 lbs of bear fodder in the back of my pickup.one member of my group skunked on salmon but did catch a small steelie around 15" . good to get your seasons worth of bait on your first outing. we took lots of video and pictures but none will be posted until this initial run is over, all and all pretty awesome for aug 9-10 . you gotta know the weather patterns to look for and get out before the rains thats when the fish are in staging!
