So in fishing terms...it's bad but when you're not fishing...it's actually good...or it depends on the fish "nibbling" at the end of your "hook"?

wow--this thread can only get worse HAHAHA--blown--verb to be blown pronounces blow n, past tense of blow--to blow, been blown, blow me, blow fish, blowed up(for redneck), blow yourself, blow hard, blower, blowee?

not a big fan of Katy Perry but i'm telling you, the girl got some moves right here.

How do you guys fish when the river is blown? Went to a river yesterday and there was barely any visibility. Saw a few people fishing along the river mostly at the bends and saw someone hooked onto one. Do they just work on known holes (i.e. slow moving water) based on how productive they were when the river wasn't blown? I don't think you can really tell the depth in most areas of the river just because you can't see thorugh anthing, or atleas I couldn't.

I was just working up and down the river at almost random places.

Well sometimes the fish will move to different areas when the river is blown. Also the river is different when the water is high, there may be more holding areas or they will choose to hang out in different water because the feel safer. It's a good idea to scout the area you fish and remember spots for when the water is high. Now there is a different between high dirty water and totally blown water, less than a foot or a foot and a half visibility and the fish have a hard time seeing your bait. It's a good idea to go big stinky and bright in high dirty conditions and slow your bait down.

Personally If the River I usually fish is "Blown" due to SW winds, if I dont shake my head and hike out, I set my drifts closer to shore!!

In high, dirty water I like to search for fish in slow moving water, typically close to shore in shallow water. As river55 mentioned, slow down the presentation and up size the bait.
