Yesterday i decided to go Bluffers park for pike. Here is the report
Sunday morning right after sunrise it was still cloudy.Waited around 45 min till cloud cleared up.It was nice sunny day.Weather was not that cold.Water was also clear.I went just to see how is thing going there. My intention was only to catch & release as i think pike season opens May 10.When i reached there, there was already 1 guy fishing & 1 came after me.The first guy was targeting perch as he said he caught some from here last summer. He was using worm only & later started targeting pike using spoons after no luck with perch.First i tried using new Mepp's size 4 spinner bait i got from BPS.I tried casting spinner at so many different spots but no luck. They were not bitting..i was using Abu Garcia spinning reel with 14lb fireline & Quantum 6'6 medium action rod. Then i switched to Bait casting with jig head on.Tried different spots but no hit. Also tired using size 1 inline spinner bait but no luck. After few minutes i reached there.1 another guy came.He started fishing using worm and with in few min he hooked pike but pike broke his line as he was using light line with no leader. He said he caught 1 pike last week by the fence near the bridge.See pic below.Stayed there little bit more and came back. This spot is good for pike as so many people recommended this place.Specially now all boats are in water parked in the docks so there must be fish hiding some where there.I will go again later this week and will give update. In the mean time, enjoy pic below.

If in fact opening date was May 10 and you targeted pike on purpose... you've just broke the law.
I know you like to keep your fish but regardless...

You know you should not even be targeting specific species if season is now open.

You know what I mean?
It's like you walk into a store not to steal a candy but you were going to put it back after you lick it few times.

:? wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong of you

thx Mikey.I have seen lots of people doing this so i thought it was ok.Now i know it.But i got new info today. For Lake Ontario pike season starts 1st Sat of May.So i think place where i was targeting is also part of Lake Ontario. So i think i was ok.Let me know.thx

Yes, if I see someone jumping off of a building... I do it too.

Lake Ontario is Zone 20. (Look at the list of area that falls into zone 20)

check your regulations guys.
it's very easy. just go to a local bait and tackle store to pick up a copy.
idesign, you tried to target pike here in april. You could've got fined by a conservation officer.

also, i thought there was no parking where the black civic coupe is?

Ashbridges Bay, Bluffers Park, Leslie Spit are all attached to land that is a apart of "Zone 16", as frozenfire said, you got lucky because they (the OPP) were out there in the full force on Sunday (not on Saturday during the opener lol) checking every fishermen they saw for a liecense, chances are, I'm almost 100% sure you would've been fined or ticketed. Since they were specifically looking for ppl fishing out-of-season & also for ppl without liecenses it seemed, another friend that went to the islands for Round 2 on Sunday, ran into them at Center Island. He mentioned that the first they did was quickly pull up onto shore in front of him, and directly asked "Do you have a fishing liecense", and then procceded to ask "have you seen more fishermen around ? and where"
