Hey Taylor. I fished downstream of the dam last Sunday. I hooked a nice 'bow about 7 lbs but it spit the hook back at me on the second jump. I saw 1 other guy land a small one. The water was really high and the wading was tough as I'm sure it will be again this week-end. The 'bows are in there and the 'eyes are always there. Just rough conditions with the high and colored waters. I'll be there on Sunday tho :)

I can't reply to the taste Erie vs Ont. Most of the 'bows I catch are to big for me. I'm single and wouldn't keep anything over about a 5 lber, something that I could eat fresh in a day or 2. I like a big fish for the pics, but for the table a 2 to 5 lber suits me just fine.
Taylor, take a drive downstream of the dam, there are many, many places you can access the river that are a lot less crowded than the dam and assuming you have waders you can find nice pools or runs that will give you a better chance at catching one.
