Hey all,

I'm a bit curious about this. In oakville, there's been construction at the Bronte creek bridge at Bronte road n the qew, and at Dorval n qew bridge which is over top 16 mile creek. When I use to fish all the time, I would go to petro Canada park, or Lyons valley park, in which there's bridge construction there to on dundas/hwy 5 just west of neaguya, all the bridge work has been going on for a couple years now, my question is, is all of this going to effect the spawning from them swimming upstream, cause i know that there's a lot of stuff falling down. I was just wondering if anyone would know what type of effect this would have, cause i know the salmon use to swim up past Lyons valley park on 16 mile creek. Cause they've had Lyons valley park closed now for a couple summers, and there had the machines down there. Any one who's an idea, i would love to hear what you have to say about it please?

Thanks

Well with respect to Bronte Creek, that bridge work won't have an effect on their spawning grounds as Steelhead spawn as far north as Lowville Dam. Now, could it affect their migration up the river? In my opinion it would have little to no effect at all.

16 Mile creek, not too sure... I've never fished it. But again, they spawn waaayyyy up the river, so I can't see it having any effect at all. Unless a chunk of concrete fell directly onto a Steelhead or Salmon's head, I can't see how it would prevent their upstream migration.
