Hello,

Thinking about going to Bronte creek this weekend. Is the entire river fishable or are there zones where fishing is permitted etc?
Also going to try my luck again at the pier.

Would love to try float fishing though in the river/creek, just not 100% sure from looking at Google maps where I can go or even access by car.

pier should be alright. river will be blown with all of that rain. 60mm from friday-saturday spells lots of fish but unfishable conditions.

Thanks NADO.. Is there a general way to access the river? I would like to park then walk if possible.. we'll give it a shot tonight and see what happens. Again worst case, we'll hit up the pier tonight.

Petro Park is the general access point everyone goes to. Tonight will be your best shot you can fish it before most of the rain falls. After that it will be pretty bad.

Planning on fishing Bronte tomorrow. Last time out I walked QEW down to petro. Drifted the odd hole along the way with no luck. Didnt see much either only a couple stuck in the slaughterhouse(Petro Park). Do I bring my float equipment and make the walk? Or just my casting equipment for the pier? That is the question.

Thanks, Canadian
P.S a simple answer is all I need

Do both! lol
I was there late on Tuesday night (The Pier) and not even a Sniff.

*With yesterday's RAIN that has CHANGED EVERYTHING!

We did not end up working the Trib, but instead headed back towards Toronto and Stopped at another Trib. Was a good choice that particular early morning/ late night. Ended up landing 6 within an hour.

I love the FRESH RUNS at a PIER, but sure wont snub my nose at them in the River either.
When they RUN like a ROCKET downstream, it's a blast (Watching them break you off! lol - Well, not all)

I cannot speak to the river but tossed lures from 1-8 last night and caught a 25 lb male. Perfect conditions with the rain but only saw 2 fish caught. My son and girlfriend were on the pier Thursday Night from 8pm till 10 pm and had 7 on but only landed 2. They were told there had not been any caught during the day but it turned on for a couple of hours. He said the pier was shoulder to shoulder and he saw another 5 or 6 on while they were there. I guess it was their lucky day. Lots jumping during the rain but they were suffering from lock jaw. Good luck

Thank you Blair. I don't mind walking the river even if there are no fish. I will bring both as usual, give me a chance to practice for chrome and scope out some holes. And maybe find some fish. Anyways I will be at the pier tomorrow morning until day light, anyone cares to join. I will be on the harbour side

Thanks for the reply. Congrats on the male, hope I can be the "lucky" angler tomorrow.

haha

It's FUN being a GOOD FISHERMEN amongst the crowd.
Let's face it: Sometimes easy parking, short walk .... stacked pools can be a joy to experience.

Just because a few DOZEN others can bring out the worst.

Good to be a SHINNING LIGHT within the darkness.

I fished Bronte creek yesterday as well as on Thursday, with no success. My buddy had 2 on but broke off. I am still in shock of how low the water conditions were. In some sections there are rapids with only an inch and a half of water. Must take a heck of a lot of energy for these fish to get up them. I would have thought that the rain we got on Friday would have raised the water level a little bit more. I guess Bronte needs a good consistent rain for a couple days.

Bronte will hold some fish right now--mainly below the highway. I walked it from #5 to the 407 (no fish in sight)...we need a steady 10 days of rain.

Thanks CC, it is a nice walk up in that section of water. Recently while fishing Bronte Ive had the joy of seeing some wildlife. A big buck scared the crap out of me as it trampled through a pool maybe 30 feet away! And it is always cool to be fishing side by side with a beaver.

I went up to Bronte this past saturday as well, and yes the water level was shockingly low still.....There were a few limitied fish holding in the even fewer pools stretched across miles of river. We walked from Petro to about the halfway point of BCPP, The walk and low conditions providied a great view of the best holes when and if some water actually shows up!! The highlight of the day was when my buddy was retying his bait and a big beaver swam up to his toes popped his head out of the water hissed at him and then smashed his tail right at his feet!! I was LMFAO ofcourse I seen it all materializing well before he knew it was coming hahahaha crazy rodent

I was out last night 7pm until 11 pm. Caught nothing again for the 3rd night in a row. 1 guy beside us caught 2 huge males and a guy across hooked one but it got away. Not having much luck so far
