Had An Interesting Conversation With A Fellow OFF Member And I Showed Him The Following Picture Above.

Unfamiliar with brook trout and splake he has pointed out the possibility of it being a splake.

Anyone Input Would Be Appreciated

I'm going to go with brookie. It's tail does appear to be somewhat forked, but that could be because of the vertical hold and the tail rays aren't spread out to create the more "square" look.
Couple friends and I caught a bunch of lakers up north this past weekend, so after looking at so many forked tails, the tail on this fish doesn't look all that forked at all LOL

It's also got the red finnage on the bottom half and the spotting and vermiculations on the back of the fish seem to point to a brookie.

I'm not sure where you caught it, but since you say that it's an odd place... it sure sounds like a brookie from that alone.

I have to say splake. Brookies have more of a square tail, and red and or blue small spots on the sides.

Just A Few More Feed Backs Before I Release The Location Of Where I Caught This Sucker @ Rice Lake

Definitely a brook trout then.
Rice lake has them in there for sure.
No splake.

I'm going to guess Bewdley Gov't dock...They've been caught there numerous times before.

I thought splake, mostly because of the semi forked looking tail, but frozenfire may very well be right about the tail folding with the way its being held. I find it a bit odd about the lack of red halos along the side.(and the lack of slightly blue halos underneath the red)
Is rice stocked with brookies?
Either way, its interesting that splake can take on more characteristics of the parent fish, and their habits too.

The hand drawn pic of the splake in the mnr ID thread looks very little like the real life splake i have seen...lol

I never knew rice lake had brooks, I should try more often there for brooks. What spots do u guys recommend?

Lack of red/blue: These spots hardly show on pictures. Look very carefully and you can see them.

Forked tail: I have caught brook trout from various places that had forked tails. They are not always square.
