Best of all the idiot driver was charged with drunk driving! Numerous reports of people beeping at him, trying to get him to stop. But ignored everyone.

I live close by on Waterdown and noticed an increase in traffic as everyone was flocking away from the highway. That dude is Burlington enemy #1 now

( Burlington ) Skyway Knuguy .... if it wasant for hamiltons newer redhill and link traffic would be at a stand still ....

Saw this on CP24.

Bridge is still closed and apparently not sure when it will re-open.

Just in time for the long-weekenders trying to get to/though Niagara Falls/Buffalo for the weekend.

glad i dont live those ways, already getting my middle finger worked hard driving downtown with gardiner lane closures from here. cant imagine the added hour or two going that way

Yea commuting will be horrible now. They have two choices now.

1. Rebuild or
2. Tear it down and build a new one.

But that's going to put lakeshore to hell. If I remember there's only one way to cross.

Is the 403/Linc/Redhill handling all the bypass traffic? It would probably be worth the extra 20min if its not too bad. Bet North Shore/Eastport/Burlington St. would be insane by now.

Naah. They'll just replace the damaged parts.

I was glad to hear that someone who saw the truck on the Hwy called the right people and that all the workers on the scaffold were evacuated safely before the hit. Otherwise there may have been casuallities.
Impaired driving, the driver should pay for any damage he caused, in restitution for the rest of his life. I have no sympathy for him and am just happy there were no serious injuries.

Alfie.
