I've taken my inflatable with trolling motor on the Grand in Brantford at Brant CA. That was clear and calm.

Is there anywhere along the Grand in Caledonia that is similarly clear and calm? With good access points?

You can put in aprox.3 miles north of Calidonia Dam clean little used public day use park great launching great parking and free

Also try Cayuga great easy access free parking and easy launch I have not used this spot yet.

Both places are ideal for your craft not a lot of current

When did you do Brantford Cons, how did you make out?

I was there a couple of weeks ago, it was muddy and lots of floating weeds and shallow, caught a few small bass

Used Brant. Cons many times last year great spot then

have tried. satellite view in caledonia is covered by clouds. also, google maps won't tell you about the topography of the land. can't tell what's flat or what's a 6 foot drop between land and water.

Thanks. This is hard to find though. Is it close to Chiefswood Tent and Trailer Park? Is it on the east or west side of the river?

I went in either late May or early June to Brant. Trolled and casted up and down the river but nothing. The guys wading and the guys in the canoe couldn't find anything either.

I'm surprised to hear it was muddy. I guess it really rained before you went? I liked how clear it was and not too deep when I was there. It was probably too early in the summer for me to see the weeds.

After getting skunked I tried the carp pond and landed one. Between 10 and 15 lbs. Don't fish carp too often. Not good with carp sizes.

Brant's a pretty nice park.

oh true didnt realise that

You can also put in above the dam at Dunnville on the north (?) side of the river near Byng Island, I believe it is free and parking is free too. I have caught some nice fish in that area from shore and wading. I'd love to try an inflatable and get out a bit further from the shore, I think it would hold a lot of promise for you.

Alfie.
