i got this email from stop the drop, we need to get to the target only 5000 more people. I dont live anywhere near gb but think its a good cause. try to help please !!
I hope you're enjoying your summer. First let me apologize for the dramatic headline, but desperate measures call for... well you know. This is crunch time and we really need your help.
I think we can all agree that we joined the Stop the Drop community this summer because we wanted our governments to hear our voices on the water level issue. We wanted to join with other citizens who shared our concern about Lake Huron and Georgian Bay to persuade governments to do something about it.
The Great News and the Urgent Challenge
The good news is we are closing in on 15,000 members in just 110 days! And there is evidence that governments are listening. We've also been lucky with above average rainfall that helped with water levels this summer.
The urgent challenge is that many people who worry about water levels have still not taken the time to register at www.stopthedrop.ca. As we talk to people around the Bay, we keep hearing "I just haven't got to it yet".
Unfortunately, this could lead us to missing our target of 20,000 members by Labour day - and dilute the impact of our message to government. Lake levels are about to start going back down, and just imagine how next summer will look if we aren't lucky enough to have all the rain we had this year!
Here is what you can do about it...
Find 3 Friends To Register Before Labour Day - seriously just 3... more than 90% of the people we talk to that use Lake Huron care about this issue, and are very willing to sign up - when you remind them about it.
If just a quarter of our members persuaded three friends each to actually register in the next two weeks, we would hit our target. Do you think you can help us do that?
Send the link now to your friends via email and your social media channels www.stopthedrop.ca.
WIth your commitment to this cause, which has already begun to make a difference, we can take this all the way. Thanks for caring.
