I have fished there several times during the summer for a few years, some MONSTER pike in there that broke my line and all I got to see was the fins.

After they cut all the trees down, It looks so weird lol....anyone else fish this canal?

Canal Rd. off of Hwy 9? If so I fished there once last year but pass it all the time. HWY 9 was full of garbage and disgusting so we moved to Canal rd. Only caught some Rock Bass and Catfish. They were pale and didn't really look right. I've heard of pike in there but haven't had much luck.

I have always wanted to fish off Canal road. The water looks slow and dark. If someone has expirence I wil lbe up ther ethis weekend. can you PRIVATE MESSEGE me some info as it comes.

Off Hwy 9 is GARBAGE! literally lol, its all that hwy and farm waste. Im talking about just a few hundred meters north.

Basically the exit onto canal road from the 400. RIGHT there is some prime fishing as far as the eye can see. That part of the "canal" is fed from simcoe (as is the entire Canal Road) , tons of huge pike and monster catfish....as well as big carp. I used to fish just west of the 400 on canal road 5 years ago, and have always caught nice CLEAN pike. Evening time is best, get there at 4pm, stay till it gets dark.

Around 6pm all you can hear is the damn carp feeding...making those smacking noises all over the place lol.

I had most success on worms (for decent sized bass and perch) and tube jigs for pike. A lot of guys that fish there use minnows and have shown me pictures of massive pike. Ill be heading there this summer, things have changed there over the years though, they cleared a ton of trees all over the west side, so the east side is where its at now

fishing Canal rd. isn't what it used to be. Yes pike is present but if you're talking about longer than 18"...i haven't seen anyone caught longer than that. There is bass there but that place is now loaded with carp which is what most of the people fish for now. I had success with small spinners and caught some rock bass and bass and have only caught small pike. they started cleaning west of 400 since 2011 but it seems that the garbage is endless. I wouldn't drive just to fish there. there are better places closer if you really want pike.
