all fish caught on corn on the bottom, and for some reason my bite alarm hasnt beeped for a single fish ? should i be using braid with it for the line to fit properly ? ive been runing 8# mono

Nice fish redneck. Braid or mono should not matter. The line may not be going deep enough into the alarm to engage the wheel. You may have set your rod up with the alarm too close to the end of the rod.
Are you sure you have the volume on? Does the light come on when you get a take?

Are you usiing bank sticks or a rod pod.. Are you using two bank sticks or one? If you are using only one bank stick then you have to be mindful of the angle you set the rod at. If it is too steep then the line won't touch the wheel.

I went fishing at Niagara whirlpools and caught a real nice carp it was well over 10 pounds did not weigh it, and also lost 2 more due to my having the drag on to tight and the line snapped on me, was using 30 pound test line. Arrived around 4 pm and got the first one at around 5pm. I found the carp were biting around 5 pm to 7pm.

I also went two weeks ago and caught 3 carp, the carp at the whirlpool give a great fight, plan on going there this weekend again.
