I have promised to take this old couple for a picnic and they love to see some fishing action as well. Since their walking abilities are very limited, and also I do not want to leave them unattended, I thought the best approach would be in one of the city parks, and still fishing for carp. Yet, I am not a carp fisherman and do not know many spots in the city. Any hint as where might be a good picnic and carp fishing park? I was thinking of Humber Bay park, but not sure if it is good, also where exactly should we do some fishing, in the park ponds, in the bay or in the lake. Any hint on the place and techniques would help. please feel free to pm.
Thanks

i know the islands are good for carp however im not sure the eldery couple will be able to get to some spots, but if they can its a great spot

Humber bay park does hold carp, and its a good for picnic too. I saw carp in mimico creek, and alone the lake side(north) of the park. There are tons of bass there, within the ponds. Carps are usually in the ponds that are connected to the lake. Most spots are not very elder-friendly. You could try mimico creek, from humber bay park west side. Right beside the parking lot are benches next to the river. Just sit there and fish.

Apparently theres carp at bluffers park too, but you gatta drive there or else itl be a hell of a walk.

Islands definitely hold good carp, but not sure if you want to spend that extra ferry fee.

Thanks a lot for the hints. I think humber bay park is a go based on what you say! This couple is very interesting, 85 and 80 y old, but much into outdoor and mentally sharp and physically great (for their age!) but less mobile. I wish I could be like them at their age.

Cheers

I think Centre Island will be the ideal spot for carp fishing especially for an older couple. Park benches are close to most of the spots you would pick ...

Mill Pond or TooGood Pond. lot's of benches and it won't be stressful for the elders.

Yea at port credit they shouldn't have a problem bring a pair of chairs for them. There are a few places you can try at, one is by a breakfast place just after the bridge there's a nice opening there and also if you head down the road past the boat launch there is a big park where ppl fish right on shore. Also if you want bring a few worms lots of smallmouth bass by the rocks.

Hope that helps
