Carrot Stix rod?

On my weekly visit to BPS, I noticed they have a few Carrot stix rods, I almost bought one if I didn't need a dipsey diver trolling rod/reel combo. They seem to be extremely LIGHT! does anyone here use one? If so how does it fare for Bass fishing?

I think there were selling for $164.xx.

From what I've read, they are no good. The guides supposedly are coated with something, and once you use braid, that coating will be gone.
One of the people they sponsor left because the rods that were being sold was not the same as what the company gave to the person. I forget his name, but I guess this does show what these guys are doing.

I have one, 7 ft med-heavy. EXTREMELY LIGHT AND SENSITIVE. they are made with carrot fibres and strontium(used in mig fighter jets). the thing about hte coating in the guides hasnt happened to me yet and i ahve been using 30lb diawa samurai since early spring on it, almost twice a week. its a good rod. GET IT

The are extremely light and should be paired with a very light reel so it isn't weighted down. The eyes look a bit flimsy and unless you are very careful they may break due to wear and tear. I would take care not to do that since you are spending big bucks on it.

Lifetime warranty doesn't hurt either.

I nearly purchased one earlier this year. However, I was not sold on the foam used for the handles, as I did not like thieir feel. It would seem that things do not bode well for e21 recently as Boyd Duckett has dropped e21 as one of his sponsers. The reason was apparently the rods that he was using were not the same rods that were in production. I do not know if this is true, but may be something to consider.

I will agree that they are light. However, I found them a little tip heavy, which isn't too big a problem if using tip down techniques.

I was about to get one as well back in April, but after doing some reading on their reviews on BPS, as well as talking to a few of the guys at the shop, they said it is not worth the price. Instead they recommended the Berkley Lightning Rod Shock, and went ahead to tell me that they do not have any in stock at the moment, but Le Baron had them in stock for cheaper. I got the same recommendation with the reps at Le Baron, and went ahead with the Lightning Rod Shock. It cost only $43 (1/4th the price of the carrot stix), and I don't regret it one bit. I purchased the 7'0 in Medium and it is very strong, and is my go to rod ever since. Using with with a Shimano Sedona 2500 and Power Pro braided 20lb test. Try it out!

Hey all I didn't read the entire post but as a bass pro associate we no longer carry carrot stix if u wish to buy 1 you can go to angling specialities in Woodbridge on highway 7 and keele unit 2401 or the location in Mississauga they carry them there I wouldn't suggest ordering from carrot stick the actual company they are behind on orders and won't receive for a while
