I know that NOW people are fishing for salmonid species at Port Credit. I was wondering though if other types of fish species (i.e., carp, catfish, pike, bass) are also at the mouth of the Credit River right now. Can other types of fish exist alongside salmon or trout in a river when it is spawning time for salmonids? Or should I just forget about catching non-salmonids at the Credit now?

Don't be intimidated mate. Just walk across the river to spot 22. You'll get wet but it's ok. Go when the water is clear and ill bet my fly rod you'll see some fish. Just throw a small fly in front of them.

Okay, where is this Spot 22? Also, I was asking about non-salmonid fishes. Fly-fishing only works for salmonids (which I don't like).

Nope, fly fishing works for all species so it's not a black and white thing. Oh ya, anyways, spot 22 is in the hotspots list!

Carp and mediumish sized catfish and sheepshead are what I have seen caught in August.
