Looking to get into some catfishing. I have no idea what to use for bait or where to go can anyone make some suggestions?

Im in southwestern Ontario and dont mind driving for some decent catfishing.

Hotdogs with garlic powder and red koolaid, chicken livers, shrimp...etc.etc.. Location try Jordan Harbour ( near St.Catharines ).

Lower grand is the place! Fishmasters bait shop,on the river will have cut bait.

just get some night crawlers. bleed them. just sink them to the bottom and hang tight.

One of my Walleye go to lakes has an increasing number of Cats in it now. We catch quite a few just jigging the same stuff we use to get the Walleye (worm ,minnow , leech ) I always throw them back . Some locals who live on the lake say they taste really good.

note the catfish here dont get too big at least from my experience but they fight hard and it all ways fun seeing them grunt ooo and you will need sharp hooks i linked them to you best price i found

Not sure where you are, but they do get big in this area. Lake O, Lake E and Grand River. Up to 20+ lbs.
Cut bait, minnows.
Forget the trebles. Gamagatsu circle hooks. Cats like to pick up bait and swim, many are lost to premature hook sets. Let them take your bait and swim, be patient and they will hook themselves on a circle hook. Then it's game on. They are fantastic fighters. No jumps, but strong runs, power and headshakes.
