Was out the day after (just a couple hours, actually) the thunderstorms rolled through southern ontario last week. Took the 2 hour drive from mississauga to a little creek that flows into Lake Erie. We figured we'd maybe get a Cat or carp, but when we got there, the water was up by about 5 feet, and looked like chocolate milk. This was the first time I took my buddy here, after telling how good it was for cats, so of course the conditions were gonna be tough, just to make me look bad...
So we waled the banks looking for a big bend with slower water. We found one, but the water, as mentioned, looked very unproductive. So I go ahead and wet a line with a bell sinker and a worm with garlic scent. Set the rod in a stick, and went to get a bevy from my bag. My buddy said, quite calmly I should add; "Uuuh, yer rod is starting to go...'. I thought it was just the current pulling my line. Then I looked. Saw my rod almost pull the stick over, grabbed and set the hook. Landed this beast about 5 mins later. No scale, but gonna guess in the 8-10lb range. The belly was HUGE, couldnt get my hand around her...
Anyway, hope you enjoy the pics, goin 2moro morning, if I get into anything, I'll post some more pics...
