Chartplotter and Depth finder

Hi all, I guess I am a newbe and here is my question. I fish and travel the waters of the Parry Sound area and am looking for a depth and a chart plotter. I am prepared to purchase navionic maps but am not sure of which unit to purchase. I have fished the area for 40 yrs. but with todays tech. would like to document a route to refer to when needed. As some of you know the waters have many shoals and sometimes only a few feet between each. What I am looking for is a unit that will give me depth and a very detailed map of the water I am navigating. I have travelled these waters before but would like to document as well to travel ( should fog develop).and save for my grand kids. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
