Went down to one of my favorite creeks for some salmon action. Caught all my fish drifting roe through the pools. With the water levels so low the fish werent moving just sitting in pools and they were smashing the sacs pretty good. Heres a pic of one of my nicest ones, a big male, loved the kype on it!chinnyb.pngchinnyb2.png

I dont know if i used the term "flossing" in the right context. I didnt purposely try to hook them in the mouths by rippin it across the pool or anything. I just use the term flossing when they hit it and I hook them in the mouth.

Im not too sure the OP meant "floss" in the same respect as we know it to be??? I think he wanted to say there all hooked in the mouth from strikes but figured saying there " flossed in the mouth" was just cool angler talk. Shes a salty old topic mates yarrrr :cool:

How about thumbs up for not posting negative comments on this guys first thread???

Lets try to be a bit more welcoming to new members here. The debating is for the salmanoid insainity forum, posting reports is just fine in the salmon forum.

99% of salmon fisherman do floss/snag in small and medium sized tribs, so it makes no sense picking on just this one guy who is actually being honest. The next step would be acknowledging that angling that way is not right and putting time and effort in trying to figure out how to actually get them to bite rather than sweeping pools of fish.

That's what I assumed, as you mentioned right away that "they were smashing the sacs pretty good" ;)

Well, if you did floss, it's ok to admit it. The fellas here are quite forgiving...Like Blair fishing in closed waters for suckers, but actually getting steelies. It took a bit of nudging, but he manned up, apologized, and all was forgiven.

NADO->Read rule #2.

I truely wasnt flossing, just a few words I obviously miss used. And now ive read the rules so I see they are words that are a little touchy to say lol. That day the salmon were inhaling roe sacs. All the fish were hooked inside the mouth except for 1 that was in the corner, maybe i flossed it, maybe i didnt. Its kinda hard to tell unless your fishing them super shallow and can see. Sorry for my miss use of wording guys! And ya CC im a fishing guide at Kesagami Wilderness Fly in Lodge. Its a sweet gig for sure. Guide one of the best northern lakes in canada for huge pike and walleye.
