Hi all,

set the alarm, woke up, hit the snooze button a couple times and then finally got up and ready for what may potential be my last day of steel for a bit. headed out east to the battle grounds where I was hoping Santa had left my gift

. A couple of drifts into my second hole which hasn't produced anything for me this fall/winter boom, fresh bullet comes flying out the water and is almost eye level with me, a couple nice runs and landed.

move on, try another couple spots I like and into another one, a small one about 1-2 pounds, so I quickly release, throw on another bag and 2 drifts later, boom... hitter. he stays on the bottom and doesn't really come up to the surface. some big runs and really made me work for him but it was well worth it, although I slipped on some mud and kinked my back

but thems the breaks.

all and all went 3/3 and was only out for about 4 hours. super quiet which was very nice, only saw 1 other person on the river. Santa gave me the best gift this year! and I'm thinking I should make this a tradition

actually now that I think about it, kinda thinking maybe boxing day fishing is a good idea and maybe hop over to sail during lunch!

Be careful of this "epic weather" that is forecast. Fear mongers!

tomorrow will be a bit colder than today. wish i was out but had friends coming over. will be targeting pike for what's left of the remainder of pike season.
