Hi guys!

So I've never tried ice fishing but am thinking of trying it out with a rental hut package for me and a bunch of kids/students of mine. I saw a groupon deal with www.icefishsimcoe.com for 12 people, but I can't seem to find anyone who's used them or mentioned them when talking about icefishing companies.
I really want to try and give these kids a good experience so I was wondering if anyone knows if this particular company is fine to go with - I'm hoping in general, all the companies out there are pretty much the same..

Another thing is that I notice most other company's huts only house up to 8 people so..I'm not sure if the advertised 12 person hut is incorrect...

If you can provide any light about this or even if you think I should just go with a better known company, anything would be helpful!

$25 x 8 = $ 200 for 4 hours is a little steep for me and 4 hours ain't gonna cut it. IMO.

Sorry I should have mentioned that the deal was 70 bucks instead of 300 for up to 12 people. I figured 6 bucks a person was pretty good.

But is 4 hours really not enough time to catch anything? Does it help going in the morning vs mid day?

My personal experience I find the timing to be extremely significant and predictable. Usually the majority of fish I catch come around dusk and last for maybe an hour and a half. I dont really go after anything other than walleye when ice fishing though. I think this is why it would be important to talk to someone with experience in the specific location or area you are planning on targeting.

so did you get to head out yet?

im still planning to go but finding a time for everyone in the group to go is a bit troublesome atm. if you went already share your experience :D i never been ice fishing so im looking forward to this

-pm if anything :D
