hey! just wanted to see if there is anyone that might have information on the water conditions on the maitland and port albert. Im heading out this weekend.
if anyone has any secrects to share plz do...

Both Albert and Maitland are low and clear. There are fish in the river but the water is so low and clear the only chance you have is first thing in the morning.
The only good catchs are at the mouth of both rivers and the only technique is to plunk.
Better bets would be to fish the Saugeen or the Notty - both have fish and more flow if you want to drift.

thanks for the update, hopefully a bit of rain this week will make it better by saterday or sunday.

im new to the terms yall use now a days.. most of my set ups are with 10lbs on reel, with 10lbs floorcaron leader (3-5 feet)
i have 2 piece rod that's maybe 15 foot, i have never been a fan of useing any type of floats. and when i see its the only way i usaly use a piece of wood, or stick. lol
or even an ear plug.

any other suggestion would be nice..

If you do decide to try Maitland your best bet may be tossing spoons, like cleos, off the steel wall or down at the rocks. I saw a few fish caught by lure bombers last weekend.

Awesome, i have never caught any trout on anything but spinners and spoons. or worms in the summer.

i never have any luck with row or single eggs, my buddy made me some "fuzz ball"s (single eggs look a like thingy. lol)(light green, pink)
i have seen alot of people with pic's of fish caught with them, but i dont think i useing them right.

whats the best set up for clear cold low level waters?

the water levels should be improved soon.. there calling for 20-25mm of rain overnight and into the morning in bayfield cant wait to get out there.

so some rain has come, water levels should be going up, an maybe a bit mercy. i talked to a buddy at work, he says if you use row from the credit or bronte, you may have trouble catching steelhead and trout
at the maitland... i geuss the sent of the eggs will scare the fish.??? i can understand it could be true.

so he is makeing me some "yarn balls"?? or fuzz balls as i call them. light green and pink with red dot.
but i have never really used them before.. any suggestions on a set up with them? leader length? weights? floats?

if thos dont work i will use spinners and spoons, but where or what ones should i be useing.?
i have only been lucky at Whitmens creek with spoons and spinners, for small bowns an rainbows.

I WANT STEELHEAD.!!!!

lol i have never caught one.:(

For spoons use little cleos in silver&blue or purple&red, for spinners use blue fox in a variety of colors such as silver blade ,blue body .
