So my car got broken into tonight for the first time ever - and of course the first time I've been downtown in a year.
fackin assholes broke my $400 drivers-window for 12$ in change in the center console and a 20$ RF receiver. Not so bad I guess considering in the trunk there was:
Gloomis 200$ fly rod
150$ spinning reel + rod
300$ musky lures
250$ Bare waders
125$ generic bass/pike tackle
150$ portable fish finder which I bought today.

Un-fackin-believable. I went out for some drinks since buddy of mine was in from vancouver - parked at work and 4 hours later im facked. Ther'be crackheads everywhere I guess.

On another note, if anyone hears about a 2004 bmw 325xi being broken into in London lemme know - I'll give you a few hundred cash to know the name :)

I got mine broken into a couple weeks ago..
I lost 3 bucks, my sunglasses case and my gps charger...(nothing was displayed for them to see; all in different compartments).
Had I been broken into the night before, I would have lost alot more because when I came back from Algonquin, I was too tired to take anything out of the car.

Sorry to hear about that man. Where I live, this is a common thing. Its fucking bull$hit because when police catch this guy, if they do.. its literally a slap on the wrist unless they have crazy priors. I Have had my apartment broken into years ago when flat sccreens were new on the scene. They took a frozen turkey!!!LMAO . The only thing we noticed missing was a frozen turkey, and my sister said there was a pack of frozen hotdogs gone too lmao. Mean while the newest T.V out is hanging on the wall 15 feet from where they were.

If you really want a 'Chance" to get this guy. Go to the local pawn shops or look for real recent ads on craigslist for a RF reciever. Some dude took tools off my work site while we were on lunch and we caught him in a simular way

Had mine broken into a while back in a "Secure Underground Garage". ONLY the trunk. They knew what they wanted. Lost about $500.00 worth of Fishing Gear.

I called the Cops to come over. Reply: "We can't do that! You have any idea how many cars were broken into last night alone?" They took basic details over the phone.

Oh well. What the Heck can you do? I guess a Car Alarm would have helped. Maybe a Pet Rattlesnake In the Trunk.

Had $800 in drills taken one night from my pickup while working at 1 Queen St. Was finished a job loading material in the loading dock, went back up the elevator 2 minutes later came back and noticed right away. There was a camera but conveniently was angled up and only showed the top of the cap on my truck. Some security. Insurance wouldn't cover because it wasn't bolted to the vehicle. Gotta love weasel clauses.

You can easily fish them out If you like to ... set up your car ... let your buddy drive your car ... get off the car 100 meters away, slowly walk on the parking spot ... let your buddy park on the same spot ... leave your car unlocked ... leave $20.00 on the car seat ... get your camera ready and Fish On ! Do not wear same gears that they can easily remember you.

crackheads get the first available thing they will get. when they zone in on stuff that's what they will get. My boss truck had the window broken. his rayban's, clutch bag with probably $60 - $80 cash and some expensive pens were sittong on the passenger seat. but what's missing is 3 toonies sitting on center compartment...

To the OP, Shitty to hear about your loss. Glad no one was hurt and loss is minimal. If you wann save your self a couple pine cones. Do the repairs urself.
Call scrap yards and buy the part. It will cost no more than $100 and I guarantee you this is what a body shop will do to repair your car and bill ur insurance for a new one. The body shop will then ask if you want ur windows tinted (if they arent already) so they can hide the fact they put a used piece of glass on your car.

Haha - I've learned my lesson and I'm not leaving any shit in my car any more :)
Thanks for the stories guys, I was quite pissed when I wrote this - I'm not going through insurance and I already picked up a new piece of glass. I have a buddy who does all my car work and he's going to install it tomorrow - all it costs is a puff :)

I would have loved to catch him - albeit I'm not sure what I would have done. I've been screwed in the past on an assault charge (cops charge you even if the other party doesnt). I tend to hesitate when dealing with crackheads - who knows what they'll do for that 20$ in change.

Either way, I'm off to Stoney this weekend and Lower Buckhorn the next - Fish will heal all wounds.

Tight lines gentlemen.
