It felt like such a long week at work this week that mid day on Friday I told my boss I'm done and needed to leave. She's pretty awesome so she didn't mind so I suck around for a bit and caught the early train home at 3:30. That was my hint that I needed to get out on the water early Saturday morning and take my mind off of things.
So i got my gear prepped and went to bed early Friday night at 9:30ish only to wake up at 1 thinking about work. I read a few articles and watched some youtube videos until 3:30. Fell asleep and the alarm 2 kind enough to wake me at 4:30. I'm exhausted but no way I'm missing my outing.
I'm on the water by 5:30. Green /brown wolly bugger tied and ready... Fly box falls in the water. *sigh* get it and dry it off.. First cast, snag. *sigh* second cast, didn't seem to go anywhere.. Of course. It's in the tree.. Behind me. *sigh* I take a deep breath and just stop for a few minutes. Look around and calm down, retie, and then cast again but this time this beauty welcomed me to the forks.
I found some very nice spots that looked promising over the next few hours. Had a couple of missed hook sets but all is well.
I had to pack it up at about 9:30 but on my way back I gave another hole that usually produces something for me and along came this other beauty.
It was a rough start but overall I had a great day out and it was exactly what was needed at the end of this week.
The more I learn the forks the more I enjoy them. So relaxing and alot of fun fishing.
