Hi Guys. I'm considering upgrading my kayak i use for fishing (bought a cheap one last year to try out) and wondered if any of the sportsman's/fishing shows have many dealers with any deals? Any of them worthwhile to go to? if not- what are the best shops/dealers to check out? I'm in Milton but dont mind a drive if it is worth it. Thx! Allan

not sure of any shows, but lots of ontario dealers for wilderness system kayaks, check em out, about 850 for a base model, just outfit it however you like

I bought an entry level Otter Kayak by Old Town some years ago for fishing I was dissapointed in the fact that it wasn't all that light and my carrying capacity was really very small.
I ended up going back to the drawing board with my Grumman/Alumacraft (13',15' & 17' aluminum canoes). I made a seat in the center from 1 1/2" X 1 1/2" X 1/8' thick angle aluminum , 16" X 12" X 1/2" plywood & hard board insulation.
I drilled 1/2' dia holes ever foot on the gunwhales for quickly fastening loads & attached ram tubes using a kayak paddle I can go canoe camping solo and easily carry all of my gear for a weekend trip.
For longer portages a two wheeled canoe carrier cart is quite handy!
Cheers, :)
