Re: rainbow trout?

Glen Haffy has two man made ponds which they stock which trout every morning. It's great if you don't have much time to fish or don't flyfish but would like to catch trout. And it's not like one of thos private ponds where it's pretty much a fish a cast, the fishing is better simulated there. Plus they sometimes tag a fish and you can win prizes, from a tour of their hatchery to a day of fishing with Dave Mercer.

right now. main season is spring, but they run with the coho salmon and brown trout right now.

I know only about fishing in Northern Ireland which is a year-round activity. You can take fishing trips and enjoy. The best of the trout fishing is from the start of the season until July but the Irish trout fishing season generally runs from mid-February through September.

Trout fishing here is a year round activity too if you know where to go. Lots of small spring fed creeks holds brookies browns and bows year round....though lots of small fish. I have gotten brookies up to 18" in small creeks and browns up to 20".(though thats unusual sizes...most are small) The dog days of summer(august) small stream trout and often trout in lakes can be Very difficult to catch. The exception to this is the big great lakes run fish. Salmon and trout start to do their spawning run and can be caught without too much effort. Spring is the only time for trout for me as the spring runs of fish are much stronger around here.
and dominic....look beyond trout...bass, pike, walleye, gar pike, carp, channel catfish will offer some of the most exciting fishing in ontario!
