I too can vouch for Mountsberg. My brother and I have had 30 pike mornings there. It has been a great place for my brother and I. We used to fish from an inflatable with a trolling motor there.

O.K.Thanks ! but do I have any chance to catch any pike just by fishing from the shore ? I do not have boat, not even inflatable. Thanks in advance.

yes stay on the south side or try the rocks where the rails run for better results. but like i said technicaly you can't walk on the rocks, but everyone does, so if you looking for adventures and big pike and bass give it a go.
thats my buddy with pike, notice the rails behind you have more than enough room.

Wow, look at these nice fish. Thanks again efka. I think I will go there very very soon, maybe as soon as tomorrow, but definitely within next 7-10 days. I will let you know how it went.

Valens conservation area is good in august and september but its a little over fished. Need some look to score something their

I heard hmm...*cough* *cough*...that Balsam Lake, Cameron Lake, and the Tri-Lakes (Pigeon, Buckhorn, and Chemong) have been having a pike/musky infestation in recent years...*cough* *cough*. :)

you can catch them from a lot of places though...stay away from the kawarthas...except for canal... balsam's got a few too but not in the number department.

I disagree frozenfire. I caught my first pike (and I read that locals in the Kawartha areas were complaining about pike infestation) in one of the Kawartha Lakes.

Someone told me Mountsberg was a dead-zone because of overfishing by the locals who live near the reservoir.

Also, I know this will sound like cheap advice, but pike/musky seem to go crazy for some reason with red-white daredevil spoons.
