Anyone use Bottom bouncers? I bought a few but keep forgeting to try them or could be I'm too lazy to tie the whole thing up. I guess they would be good for rocky structure around 20-30ft?

I have tried them with little success but they have been proven to work. They are greatr fror fishing holding on structure in deep water. I prefer to use a Lindy Rig myself.

Dirk.

I have used weedless jigs with large skirts, and tipped with a frog and caught a large pike, and used smaller of the same and caught some bass bottom bouncing, but this was in 8 to 12 feet, and not 20 to 30.

Just like Dirk, I employ a Lindy Rig when targetting eyes holding close to bottom structure in the summer - a great technique. Palomar knots hold the best IMO. I like to have my bail open and feed line when I feel the "tap, tap" of a nibble, giver line and the set the hook HARD!

I too Lyndy Rig if Im out on the boat drifting...the no snag is beauty!

But if Im on the river targetting Salmon (or the odd chromie... ) I might get tired of drifting. So Ill bottom bounce a roe bag from a 30" f/c leader and an egg sinker. Set the tention on the rod and wait for the biggguns take ya for a ride up n down the banks!

Great thx guys, I'll go pick up some lindy rigs, tonight I will try the one I bought and see if I get any action. I'm going to try a floating rapala and a worm harness with a gulp minnow and see if they like it.

much like a three-way with a sinker, bottom boucers work well in early season when most walleye are feeding on the bottom. a nice chop will move you along keeping your harness or spoon just off the bottom. works great on western basin of erie.
