Do you know any place or anyone who can help me with a broken fishing rod ?
Please see photos below.

I know probably would be wiser or more cost effective if I just buy another rod, but this rod has a special sentimental value to me, so if I can get it fixed, I would rather do that.

Looking forward to hear from you guys. Thanks in advance!

Im not 100% sure but if you google "angling specialties" I think you will find a store in toronto who can help. Any of the small mom & pop shops usually have a repair shop in them

Thanks disspatcher , I ' ll try that.

I don't think you will ever get that rod to be perfect again and the cost of fixing vs the cost of replacing might not be worth it depends what u paid for it I guess.

I think it would be easier to just treat yourself to a new rig! You deserve it hahahaha I keep telling myself that!

Yeah, you are right -I am aware of it - as I wrote : "I know probably would be wiser or more cost effective if I just buy another rod, but this rod has a special sentimental value to me......"

I got this rod from my father, i brought it to Canada from overseas this summer, rod traveled 7000+ kilometers, so........., you see my reasons for wanting to fix it...

I have one big giant orange rod similar story from UK was the old mans way back when.

I guess it had it's day's of glory now it just sits in the corner.

Besides they are designed for a different environment all together get yourself something suited to the waters you'll be fishing over here.

I have 5 fishing rods, I think I am O.K. with it, and have enough.

Well, Like I said - it is sentimental thing...

In the picture it appears to me that only the metal ferrel is broken.
If the rod is intact and you just need a new ferrel that shouldn't be to hard to get fixed

Yes , you are 100% correct, I just did not explain it properly I guess, just this metal part (I did not know how to call it - you called it ferrel) is broken, the rest of the rod is O.K.s

Call the shops that were mentioned to see if they have someone they send their work to.
You can also try Aikman's in Toronto and Rockey's in Orrillia. Both places are official tackle repair shops for companies that don't have Canadian offices. They must have, or know, someone that can do this type of repair.

Once again - Thank you guys : disspatcher , Snypa , Garry2rs & frozenfire .

It may be useful to post info on this location, in case that someone else may be looking for help with fishing rods.

I found one of angling specialties locations here:
Angling Specialties
2104 Highway 7, Concord, ON L4K 2S9
Telephone : 905-660-9707
Map Link: http://www.yellowpages.ca/bus/Ontario/Concord/Angling-Specialties/2090752.html?adid=00562850

These guys have nice shop with some really good stuff, it may be a bit more expensive then BPS. They can help if you need to repair your fishing rod or want to custom build one.

In may case , repair job will cost me about $32, with $22 for the part and $10 for labour.

Awesome thanks for sharing, nice to know there is a spot that will fix rod & reels for a decent price.

Your welcome Halleb ! a good buddie's dad (Mike Cheung) run's that shop, I actually got my first fishing rod from that place when I was kid about 15 years ago (still have it). Nice little shop, w/ a ton of info, I'm thankful that they're still in business considering that BPS is nearby. Support your local tackle shops !

angling specialties is pretty good. there is another location in scarborough. it's located 1 minute from my house!!!
kennedy rd and passmore ave.

You actually could do it yourself with some Kevlar flytying thread and epoxy. If the ferrule that came off is loose when you slide it on, you can build up the piece that it slides onto by evenly layering on Kevlar flyting thread. Make sure that the ferrule does not have any play in it when you slide it on for a trial fit. Take the ferrule off and coat the thread with some epoxy. Slide the ferrule on and let the epoxy set 24 hours. This will make an extremely strong repair. Kevlar thread is available from Jann's Netcraft (http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/fly-tying-thread/)
