Does anyone use double taper on there switch rod ??? Using wf stealhead taper now and am happy with it but want longer D-loop and T-snaps but don't think i need a 100' spay line for the water I fish ... Just wondering if any one uses DT and how you like it

Harder to find double tapers these days...I always use them on my lighter rods...or if I'm nymphing for steelhead...as for the Spey or switch I'm not sure you will get enough distance or a decent anchor...

Well I know I can get a longer roll cast with a DT than a WF but its easier to load a single handed than a switch and I could add a a indicated or sink small sink tip pending on application to help with the anchor but I'm not set on getting one over a spay line just exploring my options

On my switch rods I tend to run a switch line a double taper would work for nymphing but when it comes to swinging I think you might have a hard time what wt switc rod do you have

Also I'm trying out the airflo speydacater line it's looks pretty good I think it will work well on a switch setup

I have a 7wt stcroix imperial with 9wt scientific angler stealhead taper .... Works great but hard to get a roll more than 45-50' and I can do that with a 6wt DT on a 9' so I would think using a d-loop or t-snap with a switch I could get 60+ with woollies and small streamers which is enough for where I fish right now would get a scandi or skaget for the really long casts but I want something I can mend easily like the DT on my 9' but don't know if I need to get a spey line .. By what I've read if I'm correct a traditional spey is one really long taper with the head being at the tip of the rod and tapers away from you so you need a wide enough river to cast it because you need the head out to load the rod to cast it?? Where as with a wt forward from my experience on a 9' you can make casts of many lengths you don't need a set amount of line to roll it out... Just don't know how it works know a broomstick of a switch rod

Did you take alook at the Spey line video I posted the other day with the switch line I have I have to problem mending it and I'm using it on the st croix 8 wt it has a 55 for taper I think I can put out. 70 feet with out to much effort more if need be

check out my posting in the buy/sell/trade portion of the forum. May interest you, not really sure what you are looking for
really I'm just looking for feed back from any one who may have used a double taper on a switch rod if I had an extra 70$ to blow to buy some and try it any way but I don't so hoping someone here has and can give me some feed back
