So I'm thinking about taking my canoe out on opener and launching it far upstream on a lake o trib and then pulling it out at about the midway point of the river. I do not know a lot about the drift boat style of fishing, but here's my understanding:

-Must have two cars, one at downstream location, one with the boat for the upstream location
-Launch the boat and drift to downstream location
-Pull out at downstream location and put canoe on the other car
-Drive back to upstream location, drop 1 person off to take that car back too

Am I missing something that would make this a lot easier??

Done this many times. You basically got it right.
What trib you aiming for? I have friends with vehichles.maybe we can set up something.

Alfie,

Would love to do this on the Grand when Bass and 'eyes open.

yep, my buddy and I caught 20-30 bass in a few hrs drifting the Grand in a canoe.

If anybody wants to try that on the Geen or Notty just let me know

Ya that's what we do all the time. We drift the saugeen and grand quite regularly. Feel free to pm me if u ever go, saves that second useless vehicle. We'll prolly be going up to the (Huron trib) in the canoe for opener.
