Duck Vs. Pike

I was up in Haliburton and there was a family of about 15 newly-hatched ducklings in the swampy part of the lake where I was staying. Well every day their population diminished by 2-3 until there was only 2 left. Then I saw the huge snapping turtle living under the dock  I know, it's nature. But they were so friggin cute.

Predators gota eat ... I find it sad when I see somebody let they're Chichiwawa or yorky swim in a lake known to have big pike because they do feed on rodents as big as small dogs and they know to go to shore to find them

lol once we took our silky to hastings the park there, man so many hawks were circling. coudn't have fun lol.

Ya there is a lot of osprey around my area and the only time I let chihuahua off leash is in the cover of the forest .. He's only 5lbs but scraps like a pit and chases everything and if he say a osprey I know he would think twice about going after it !!!

maybe I should come up with a new lure   I never seen a lure osprey yet.

Weird, got a call at work today from a vet clinic who was treating a small dog that got attacked by a hawk near a condo downtown. Just when you think you've heard it all.....
Needless to say they wanted to know if we would try and catch the hawk. Ummm....no....it's a bird. A hungry one. With wings....

I've seen big pike make baby ducks disappear zip-zip zip in front of my eyes just ahead of my boat & right behind mother duck all swimming in a row.
Thanks for posting Lure!
