Wont be long for the big cats ...Derby is off for this weekend but ice fishing will still be open there is 14" of ice and I dont see that its going anywere fast ...the Ice Breaker can only go in the mouth of the river ...my thoughts are with the run off fish are going to turn on ....


Hey guys,

I saw this posted on OFN i was wondering if anyone could verify this, i need to get out. And Don;t want to lug my gear on simcoe, but if the Grand outside of Fishmaster's has 14 inches of ice, then that is where i'll go...

Ice Fishing has it's own joy of thrilling. I also enjoy ice fishing when ice is somewhat about 10-12" you know!! But this time I don't think that I will be able to do it as ice is not so growing very fast.

Yeah the ice sucks for safety this time of year!! BUt seriously though, i go out on 4"-5" of solid black ice in the winter and 6-8 of white ice. If you read army safety regs on ice safety you see you can drive a truck out on 10" of black ice safely.(though i personally dont reccomend that)
