When your wife finds out you've been throwing around her cutlery, she's going to be pretty pissed!

Change of a plan...

I'lll be tossing spoons & forks early August.

I'll give one tip to those of you wanting to cast spoons off pier for the first time.
You better start shopping for those glow in dark spoons now... because you won't be
able to find any spoons to buy once more and more people start to cast.

My pier fishing gears are...

Shimano Convergence 10'0" Medium-Slow Action rod
Daiwa Regal Xi 3500 with 30lb PowerPro
Some noname 8'6" Medium-Heavy Rod
*need a new reel for this rod to take my brother with me.

Seems like some people been having success tossing spoons already this year due to the rain. I'll be spending more time by the water at night real soon.

Hi Guys,

I've never fished for salmon in Toronto before. when you say "the pier" do you mean the pier on the south side of Center island? If this isn't the one could you let me know. Also, would you recommend the morning or the evening fish? I'm looking get out and cast some spoons real soon. I found that sliver fox spoons with greens have worked best for me in the past.

Cheers,

Thanks David,

Have the salmon come in this far yet? I found in Owen Sound the salmon have come in later and later into September usually its best about the second week of Sept. (just after the derby...go figure) Would you recommend the morning or evening fish? I found that the evening fish has been better in other places I've fished before, but I don't know Toronto that well.

Thanks,

Last year it was best between 5pm and 10pm bottom of the Humber.

It seemed like when evening rolls around people start to land them.

Also I've had the best luck right late at night pitch black with a glowing Cleo.
