Erindale park and river fishing help

Sorry to bust your chops about "white buckets" cause it seems like you have this mentality about a certain type of people. Don't be surprised when you see many of your kind doing the dirty dirty. Salmon season brings the worst out of many kinds of people not just one kind. Don't be one of them like DILLAGAF had mentioned. It could get quite contagious when you're a beginner not knowing what to do cause you'll be too tempted to get a fish which will most likely be snagged anyway. If you see someone fishing catching fishes it doesn't hurt to approach him/her and have a friendly chat about fishing. Tell them your new to fishing and would like to learn how to fish the proper way. I'm sure they will throw plenty of good pointers. Good luck, its going to be a zoo over there within the next couple of weeks.

I mention the "white bucket guys" because of my own personal experiences when them,I know others snag but I find them the worst. When I was twelve one of them tried teaching me how to snag salmon and it go me into the habit of it until I got older and realized it was cheating and cowardly. I'm hopefully won't be one of those guys he mentioned because of all the time I've spent frustrated as hell casting a j13 while fish swim right under my feet with no hits, that's kinda taught me to be patient and do it the right way,I'm assuming the best way for me is to find a spot with people who know what they're doing and kinda observe

Honestly? Fish anywhere else. Erindale is a total circus and 99% of the fish you see hooked are snagged.
hi am been fishing in credit for 8 years now and i live walking distance at erindale park i dont agreed what u said if salmon got snagged they will release it and people start saying its snagged but some outsider or newbie yeah they snag salmon for taking picture make them look cool lol... and about the circus you said erindale park and credit river is popular and when people saw a hole bunch of people they will go there also to catch their 1st salmon of the season.. but if you like walking trying to find a hole with less people credit river is long people stay in particular hole like under the bridge. sorry for bad english

I totally agree with Symmetre.
Stay away from Credit.
Everyone stay away from the Credit.
whats wrong in credit? because its too crowded? cant catch fish? most of the people saying this is to keep the hole like they own the river lol we the residence we will never say this.. credit is for everyone and must respect the law and nature.. thats why am offering my self as a guide in credit specially in erindale park to help our fellow fisher man...

My brother moved into a house a block away from erindale park and once he moves in,in a few weeks I'm gonna hit the river and try for some salmon.however I've never fished a river for salmon before so I was wondering what gear I should bring and what to use? I'm assuming to float roe or worms but I'm not sure, where to cast and what to look for in the water to locate the fish and also what time I should go at to avoid the hoard of anglers cuz I'll probably take a bit to get the hang of it

Pretty much just asking how to fish a river? :)
hi chinook i live near in erindale also maybe we can go together this season i learn a lot in our forum so i cant tie some extra roe bag for you :)

Thats very gracious of you exOor.
Just let me know every time there's good numbers pushing up and maybe we can get together.

You seriously think there are any secrets about that place? Idiots been snagging there as long as there's been salmon in the great lakes. There are no secrets, everyone knows when the fish come in and where they go.

Yeah, we all know where the fish are and when, duh. We've been fishing there for years. But why don't you go ahead and refresh my memory anyways, its been a while. A PM is fine.

Im usually fishing a marina with j13 so I usually don't get the first runs till late September, and Usually I don't see anyone there maybe sometimes a few people maybe my spot jsut sucks

Anything works for salmon when the bite is on. They hit anything. even a simple grub. When the bite is off....it's off. It's like dangling the juiciest filet mignon in front of a vegetarian. Credit is a great river...it's a shame not a lot of people respect it. I have been there a few times and one of the best runs of salmon and steels i've seen. And a good run brings out the best and worst of people.

For a river located in a major city the craa has done a fantastic job .
The park section is beautiful.
And when levels are up it's easy to see why it's classed a river not a creek.
The grand and Niagara are the next closest rivers in my west area not classed as ditches.
And when you guys get a little older, you too will appreciate the generous amount of park benches (with back supports) along the trail.
The best fall perk.
After a few hours drifting you can return to bbq sausage and cold drink at the parking lot.
Life's good.
I have no desire to drive 6 hours for comparable fishing north.
I'll stay right here.

I cant say that I'm old, but I do appreciate a nice Hot Italian Sausage for lunch after a few hours of fishing!

PBJ on toast wrapped in tinfoil....or if I get up earlier...some grilled cheese & lemonade can get me going for about 6 hrs of fishing. I rarely go that long in the river anyways. I got all the fishing perks I can get...gears kayak etc...in exchange I rarely stay more than 4hrs just to appease my old lady....

It's funny you say that S4S at Erindale Park if Salmon or Steel don't run that day there is always a nice piece of a$$ running LOL. Win win.

I wonder if we have the same species running during fall...here in the east trib...it's yoga pants species...

I feel as if we should setup a day with walkie talkies to communicate or stand close enough to all stare as we fish.
