Fall 2011

Ontario Fishing Forums

Help Support Ontario Fishing Forums:

This turned into a bunch of nice pictures being posted. I got to meet Salmo too in my travels this fall, he seems like a nice guy.

Actually have met a lot of good people out on my various outings, its been nice to get back into fishing again.

decent thread... that drift in dozer's second pic looks tantilizing......reminds me of a really sexy drift on another east creek.

some pics from the insanity that was the fall run this year.....chrome rockets at the back of the pool!!!! i generally keep my two fish but when your getting 10 plus an outing your release ratio is still over 80%

Thanks for sharing!

Your friend threw a few rocks my way, no worries. They never hit me, and the last couple of times that we saw each other fishing there, things were cordial as they should be. I'm not holding a grudge against you or them.

I got flustered afterwards and took a bit of a break from steelheading, which worked out nicely because I wanted to read Steve Jobs' biography and it got released the next day or so, much earlier than the original release date.

Can't say the break lasted long, I fished quite a bit right up until the end of the year.

WTF@ Rock throwing...
-fuking childish behaviour!

@GB
-Throwing rocks, really?... -Comon!

I agree, after I read that I was thinking that sh*t wouldn't fly if I saw it.

In GB's defense, you cant always control what your friends are doing.

I used to go to a pizza place with some of my car buddies, the owner was friendly, the pizza was good, and the slices were the size of 3 normal slices. Long story short the guy treated us like gold but some of my buddies started acting like asses bordering on harassment. Anyway one night I finally got fed up and told them if they were in my family's sub shop and were acting like this I would have kicked their stupid asses out long ago. Long story short due to other reasons tied to their maturity I no longer hang out with any of them.

I never through a rock at salmo....i have tried my besr to be very cordial with him.......that old chestnut happened down near the bend.....all this bs started because you had to walk over to the wall everytime you needed a baseball size chunk of skein salmo......pls get a fanny pack it where you find the roe sack at.....oh yeah then proceeded to argue with us that STIRRING them up was proven tactic as he sloshed around unde the tunnel.........whats next shinning spot lights in thepool for bottom bouncing.....that guy who was with that day i busted that big male steely when you were fighting that snagged salmon for 20min was getin?

I fished that creek many times last season and took quite a few guys. I was not fishing with getin that day. It doesn't matter who pushed who's buttons, it's all good. Last couple times we saw each other we talked fishing as fishermen do. You guys told me you fish for brook trout in spring fed streams - anyone who has experienced how much fun that can be is on good terms with me. Maybe next spring we can do a brook trout outing or a steelheading trip as you suggested.

I said some harsh things to you, I wish I hadn't. I was out of character and out of line.

Why dont you come up and do some ice fishing for lakers and whities...the ice is sketchy but the fishing is good and you cant beat the weather.

You are going to kill the fish by holding them up by the gills. Just a tip. Hold them horizontally under the belly.

Of course if youre gonna keep the fish than no harm done.

You missed his post about that earlier in this thread, he knows :)

On a sidenote, the ice must be real sketchy with the weather we've been having. I for one am loving the open water.

He may have been referring to Gbaydrifter's pics, looks like he was keeping the ones held vertically anyhow.

I know some veteran fishermen who still practice questionable fishing ethics such as holding fish by the gills. Before the internet, you learned mostly from your peers and personal experience. We have so much information about fishing at our finger tips now, plus the experience of countless fishermen who chime in on forums.

What gave away the fact i was keeping those chromes.....the blood pouring from their throats. Ice really firmed up this week...what a zoo this weekend was must have been a thousand guys out there
