I love fall -- a great time to fish off docks. Nailed huge crappie off the Chippawa. The largest being just over 12.5". Catching them that size on ultra light tackle makes for a fun Saturday afternoon. Squirt tubes were the soup d'jour.

fall is awesome to fish, I am hoping to have the first week of October off work to head up to the lake and put a few quality days in fishing with the whole lake to myself most likely.... :-D

Wow that must have been a slab crappie! What the difference between a normal tube and a squirt tube? Cheers.

I thought you were taking a crappie off the dock and fell into the water, was looking forward to a funny video

That would be a 'crappie fall off the dock', which would also warrant some pictures. As for the crap off the dock... wrong forum man.

Lol I know... the lack of photographic evidence puts me in a position to neither confirm, nor deny the existence of said fish. Wish I had brought a scale, let alone snap a photo. Who thinks to bring those for pan fishing!! :)

Dugger, it was a black crappie, but not near the monster white crappie you posted in another thread -- that thing is a mutant!

Noob, dockmuskie is right. Think bass tubes, but fun sized! The idea is to pair them up with small jig heads in the neighborhood of 1/32 oz in different colour combinations. There are also fun sized grubs, skirts and all other plastics. Fish them underneath a slip bobber -- the crappie will strike from the bottom towards the surface as their eyes are oriented to look up.

Love fall fishing! Best time to fish the shallows for greedy bass! They almost come to you! A nice trip up to the highlands on a weekday is almost pure heaven.

Hmm, that's kinda funny, common sense would be to call em scented tubes. :D

well if they called them scented tubes than that would just be way too easy to figure out what they were. cant have the entire world knowing the secret language of fishing
