Favorite/Best Times To Fish?

I don't have a favourite bait and neither should you! If you do, you will find yourself using it all the time and you will limit the number of fish you catch. Change it up and try different things. Don't be scared of a new bait or technique. Practice makes perfect. You've heard of trial and error? I like to call it trial and terror, then trial and error and finally trial and success!

Dusk/dawn for walleye.
All day for everything else.

morning/evening bite for me is the best for any species of fish.
if i happen to have a trip that includes the whole day, during the afternoon with the high sun, i will take a break and eat lunch/relax...while waiting for the sun to go down and for the action to continue.

Early morning or late afternoon-evening.

Usually fish from 6am to 1/2pm or 5pm to 9/10pm, tried night fishing for walleye from 12am-6am once might try it again this year just need to find somewhere where I'm allowed to launch at night.

I usually base my fishing on Weather and water conditions as opposed to time of day.

+ bed is better in the AM.

Bass
Usually first thing in the morning @ 6:30 am.
No one around and it is very peacefull until people start showing up.
I have not tried early evening (too many mosquitoes)

Salmon
5:00 am way before the guys start showing up (right Mikey??LOL). Spaces are limited that way I can a prime spot.

With mosquitos I really DO like to put a makeshift tent of mosquito netting  Very amusing to watch the mosquitos try in vain to getcha.

I don`t really have a favorite time to fish, I guess any day that I can get out to fish wether it be day night cold or hot, than that is my favorite time to fish! Live in the moment!

My favourite time to fish is about an hour or 2 before the sun comes down. Fishing is easier and it won't be as hot.

I preffer fishing in the early morning. I have to hoof it to where Im going to fish, so thats not a big deal, but I pack a lunch and start in the morning, then keep fishing until sunset.

morning and evening although i have caught many many fish during the middle of the day also. It all depends on when your fishing.(early spring-afternoon if your best bet, if it's mid summer-then the bass or whatever will be out roaming around a little more during the morning/evening but even in the afternoon they can be caught, usually in thicker cover.)

I agree with what diggyj said, unless you only plan on fishing during these peak times i guess your good to go. If not, then you need to learn and adapt to the conditions you are faced with.

Good luck, and don't be discouraged by cold/HOT weather.

Mike
